PGO Cevennes Turbo-CNG Convertible Sports Car

The PGO Cevennes Turbo-CNG is a lightweight convertible sports car. The PGO Cevennes Turbo-CNG powered by a natural-gas-fueled, turbocharged, and have four cylinder engine.

PGO is a French automobile manufacturer which began life constructing replica cars in the mid 1980’s. By 2003 PGO had unveiled a production version of their own design the Speedster II, which, like the Cevennes Turbo-CNG, bears more than a passing resemblance to the Porsche 356. The natural gas powered 2008 Cevennes Turbo-CNG is a development of the Speedster II and original petrol powered Cevennes model.

While the styling and rounded profile of the Cevennes Turbo-CNG might be derived from a classic sports car, PGO have managed to inject a modern and fresh character into the car which is underlined by its unconventional and cleaner burning fuel source.

Power for the PGO Cevennes Turbo-CNG comes from a turbocharged, 1.6 litre four cylinder engine which is modified to run on natural gas. Power output for the engine stands at 150 bhp @ 5600 rpm and 155 lb-ft (210 Nm) of torque @ 2300 rpm. Equipped with a six-speed manual transmission the PGO Cevennes Turbo-CNG is capable of hitting 130 mph and reaching 60 mph in an impressive 6.5 seconds.

The chassis of the PGO Cevennes Turbo-CNG consists of a steel frame with built-in crumple zones. Over the frame sits the reinforced fibreglass body.

The German company BRA GmbH was responsible for the development of the natural gas engine used in the PGO Cevennes Turbo-CNG.
