Volvo 2009 Models Updated





 All Volvo 2009 model get some updates as announced by Volvo. However, the Volvo 2009 updates include new prices and new styling cues like the larger tailgate emblem.


The launch of the Volvo V70, XC70 and the new Volvo XC60 for the UK market also announced by Volvo that it will take place in autumn.


Standard power mirrors across the range, an updated Communications Pack and as an option Bluetooth and Homelink also included at Volvo 2009 updates.


Three new color for the 2009 model year also announced by Volvo: Savile Grey will join the S80, C30, V50 and S40, while Caper Green Pearl being added to S80 and XC70, and Vanilla Pearl to the C70.

Enhancements to the Volvo range for the 2009 model year offer customers more choice, more luxury features and technology as well as value for money. All new MY’09 models are available to order now with first customer cars expected in July.


Across the range


A key exterior design change is introduced at model year to the Volvo S40, V50, C70 and C30 by making the Volvo emblem on the tailgate larger and more wide spread; enhancing its visibility and aligning the styling with the all-new Volvo V70, XC70 and the new Volvo XC60 which arrives in the UK in autumn.


Power mirrors with an autofolding function are now standard1 across the Volvo model range. This technology means the mirrors can be set to fold in automatically when the car is locked, and fold out again when the car is unlocked. The contents of the Communications Pack have also been revised and now include RTI Navigation System, Keyless Drive and Bluetooth?? Handsfree System.2


The Bluetooth?? handsfree system is also available as an individual option for a RRP of ?200 on the Volvo C30, S40, V50 and C70. This handsfree system automatically recognises a Bluetooth?? compatible mobile phone as it enters the car and seamlessly takes over, allowing the driver to switch freely from the mobile phone to the handsfree system. By simply touching the blue button, the Bluetooth?? handsfree system will listen to commands and make calls.


A new Homelink option is available across the Volvo range for a RRP of ?501 . With buttons integrated in the sun visor, Homelink?? allows the occupants to operate remote controlled home appliances, such as a garage door, home alarm and exterior lighting, without leaving the car.


There are new colour additions with Savile Grey being added to S80, C30, V50 and S40, while Caper Green Pearl will join the S80 and XC70 and Vanilla Pearl to the C70.


Volvo S40 and V50


In the S40 saloon and V50 Sportswagon, the RTI Navigation System has been updated with a new driver interface, new colours and a refresh to the menus and symbols and is now offered at a reduced recommended retail price of ?1,500. The Family Pack now includes the Passenger Airbag Cut Off Switch, and is priced at ?260 RRP.


The 2.4i petrol engine is no longer available and prices across both saloon and Sportswagon ranges generally remain stable, with minor amends to the R-DESIGN Sport which increases by up to ?200 whilst the R-DESIGN SE Sport decreases by up to ?190 OTR.


The S40 range starts at ?13,995 OTR for the S40 1.6S and the V50 start price remains unchanged at ?15,995 OTR for the 1.6S. Standard equipment on these entry level models includes ECC (Electronic Climate Control) with AQS (Air Quality System) and pollen filter, DSTC (Dynamic Stability and Traction Control), power windows, leather steering wheel, 6-speaker radio/CD system and an auxiliary input for MP3 player.


Volvo C30


The hard load cover is now standard on all trim levels and the soft load cover is available as a no cost option. As with the S40 and V50, the C30 RTI Navigation System has also been given a new look with a recommended retail price of ?1,500. 18 inch Midir alloy wheels are now available as a no cost option on the R-DESIGN SE Sport and as a cost option of ?500 on the R-DESIGN Sport.


The 2.4i petrol engine is no longer available and prices remain unchanged across the range, starting at ?14,995 for the Volvo C30 1.6 R-DESIGN Sport complete with sporty R-DESIGN exterior and interior styling as well as IDIS (Intelligent Driver Information System), cruise control, MP3 player compatibility and steering wheel remote audio controls as standard equipment.


Volvo C70


This stylish C70 Coupe Convertible offers ECC (Electronic Climate Control), power windows, information centre, cruise control and High Performance audio system as standard equipment and, across the C70 range, the new enhanced RTI Navigation system and Keyless Drive are available as no cost options for the 2009 model year. Prices remain stable with the range starting at ?25,750 OTR for the C70 2.4i S.


The new Powershift gearbox, introduced to the Volvo C30, S40 and V50 earlier this year, has now been launched in the C70 range. Available on the 2.0D engine only, it reaches 0-60mph in 10.5 seconds, features a combined mpg of 44.8 and boasts a 167g/km CO2 figure. This new Powershift six-speed unit features twin wet clutches to provide the gear changing comfort of a fully-automatic transmission with the performance of a manual gearbox. As well as offering gear changing comfort and high performance, Powershift also contributes to delivering improved fuel efficiency. The recommended retail price is ?1,250 over the 2.0D.


Volvo XC70


Enhancements to the Volvo XC70 premium estate include several new additions to the SE Lux specification including Active Bending Lights, heated washer nozzles, Load Compensating Suspension and chronograph instrument dials.


The Volvo XC70 also receives an updated RSE (Rear Seat Entertainment system) which now features larger eight-inch flat-screen monitors built into the front seat headrests. A digital TV option is also available, which enables passengers to watch Freeview channels as well as providing a cardslot that can be used for subscription services. Other RSE features include an integrated DVD player, wireless headphones and remote control. An extra socket means it is possible to connect an additional DVD player or video game so the two screens can then be used independently. The RSE system is available for ?1,350 RRP and the additional digital TV option is ?400 RRP.


A new Driver Support Pack is also now available which includes BLIS (Blind Spot Information System), ACC (Adaptive Cruise Control) with Distance Alert and Collision Warning with Auto Brake and LDW (Lane Departure Warning), with DAC (Driver Alert Control) and has a recommended retail price of ?1,500. A Security Pack has also been introduced with a retail price of ?600. The pack features PCC (Personal Car Communicator) with Heartbeat Sensor and Keyless Drive and 360o laminated windows.


Again, prices are stable, with the range starting at ?31,035 OTR for the D5 SE Manual.


Volvo S80


For Volvo???s luxury saloon, the S80 with SE Lux variants now benefit from heated washer nozzles and chronograph instrument dials as standard. New 17 inch Cassini alloy wheels are now available. The S80 also receives the upgraded RSE (Rear Seat Entertainment System) and Digital TV option and sees the introduction of the Driver Support Pack and Security Pack.


The 2.5T FlexiFuel engine is now available to order and is priced ?300 above the 2.5T engine at ?25,295 OTR. The environmentally-friendly unit produces a powerful 200PS and 300Nm of torque at 1500-4500rpm, reaching 0-60mph in 7.2 seconds.


Price adjustments include a decrease of ?220 for the Volvo S80 3.2 Executive which is now available for ?39,985 OTR and the range starts at ?23,495 OTR.


Volvo S60


The Volvo S60 SE Sport models will now feature anti-theft alarm including level sensor, active bending lights and headlamp cleaning system as standard. Standard specification is high and the S60 range offers great value for money. Prices have been reduced for the 2009 model year, with the S60 2.0T SE now priced at ?19,995 OTR.


Volvo XC90 and V70


As recently announced there have been many changes and additions to the Volvo V70 and XC90 range, including the new R-DESIGN sport chassis and styling package and a new lower CO2 figure for the Volvo XC90.

2008 Volvo V70/S80 2.5 FT
